AC Celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities

This year Aspire AC and HR Programs has invited the Propeller Dance Company to perform an original piece to help us increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities and celebrate their achievements and contributions.
Propeller Dance Company is based in Ottawa whose members experience all abilities. The company’s creations provide a distinctive artistry; crowds are moved, perceptions are changed, people are entertained.
Algonquin College has had a rich history of supporting accessibility and inclusion. This year is no exception. To help us celebrate, employees and students are invited to this thought-provoking performance.

The United Nations observes December 3rd as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The annual observance aims to promote understanding and mobilize support for increasing inclusion and well-being of people with disabilities worldwide. In addition, the goal is to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
