Ningbo Polytechnic & Algonquin College Graduating Ceremony

Algonquin College and Ningbo Polytechnic, Ningbo, China, held the graduating ceremony on June 10, 2021 for the first cohort of students Algonquin’s Hospitality Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management program at Ningbo.

Unique in the COVID-19 world, Algonquin College staff attended the graduating ceremony remotely.  President Brule highlighted these thoughts on how we have continued to cooperate, “our educated people are our future – most particularly those who have the sensitivity to understand and communicate globally with others. We live in a diverse world, a globally connected and interdependent world, and we need each other.  We are counting on you.  You are our future leaders .”

Located in the City of Ningbo, an important port city in the prosperous Yangzi River Delta and is 220 kilometers south of Shanghai, Ningbo Polytechnic is a publicly funded vocational college, and a first tier “national model college” in China. Ningbo Polytechnic offers 33 fulltime college diploma programs, under its 8 academic schools, with 11,000 fulltime students. Ningbo Polytechnic is also designated by the Ministry of Education of China as the National Teacher Training Base for vocational institutions across China and runs numerous development-training programs for faculty from around the world.

The Class of 2021, along with President Claude Brule, President Xiangyang Wu (Ningbo Polytechnic) and  staff and faculty from both institutions.
