Welcome Ahmed Elbadri, Student Success Specialist, School of Media & Design

August 6, 2021
I am very pleased to announce that Ahmed Elbadri has accepted the position of Student
Success Specialist for The School of Media and Design, effective August 9th.

The Student Success Specialist (SSS) plays a vital part in a student's academic success and is an
important position in the strategic enrolment management process. Ahmed will be working
within an integrated team of Faculty, Program Coordinators and Chairs within the school. He will
play a key role in the development and implementation of academic success strategies in a
learner’s journey.

Ahmed brings with him a wealth of cross college knowledge and has held positions in the
Registrar’s Office, Academic Operations and Planning, the Peer Tutoring Centre and the Student
Learning Centre. Joining Algonquin in 2015 in the Peer-tutoring Centre, he quickly moved from
Client Service Representative to Peer Tutor. In 2016, he transitioned to a Computer Coach
within the Student Learning Centre.

Ahmed also worked as an Academic Onboarding Officer in Academic Operations and Planning.
While there, he was instrumental in the development and delivery of the Intercept program, a
tool to support and redirect students who may be at risk academically. The majority of his
positions at Algonquin have been student facing and he is looking forward to continuing to
connect with students and fellow SSSs to ensure academic success for our students.

Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Nipissing University and is alumni – graduating
with our Business Administration Human Resources diploma.

Please join me in welcoming Ahmed to the School of Media and Design.
