In light of the cooperation between Algonquin College and Ciena, a team of 14 employees from NorthwesTel will receive high-quality intensive training in the Ciena Optophotonics Lab at Algonquin College. The training is focused on Operation, Administration, Maintenance and Provisioning (OAM&P) of Optical Communications Networks, and is scheduled to be held from April 4 to April 8, 2016. The training will help NorthwesTel employees commission and operate a multimillion dollar Mackenzie Valley Fibre Link (MVFL) project and other projects that connect Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon.
