Info for Faculty Participating in College Orientation Day on January 11, 2016

College Orientation Day is taking place Monday, January 11, for Level 1 Winter intake students (full-time). For these students, the first day at Algonquin College begins with College Orientation Day. (Please note that classes are suspended in the morning for Level 1 Winter intake students (full-time) on January 11, but will take place as usual starting at noon.) Be sure to visit orientation.algonquincollege.com in the lead up to College Orientation Day, as this is the one-stop access point for all information, including:

• Pre-Orientation Workshop Schedule (December 9 and January 5)

College Orientation Day on January 11 will include Program Orientation. All schools will be divided into three sessions and each session will include:

• A breakfast in the Marketplace Food Court for students and Faculty
• A College Orientation Day presentation in the Student Commons Theatre
• Program Orientation with Faculty

Faculty tasks during College Orientation Day (Sessions A and B):
*Please check the Schedule to confirm whether your program is part of Session A, B, or C, times vary by Session

Student/Faculty Breakfast (Marketplace Food Court)
• Seating chart will show Faculty where to sit according to program.
• Faculty will be given a sign to assist with identifying themselves in the crowd.
• Faculty will meet students and eat with them.
• Breakfast will be served by Deans and Chairs.
• After eating breakfast, Faculty will bring their students to the Algonquin Commons Theatre.
• Faculty are asked to sit with their students in the Theatre.

Orientation Presentation
• The Emcee will announce each program and direct Faculty and their students out of the Theatre upon completion of the Orientation presentation in the Theatre.

Program Orientation
• Faculty members will bring their students from the Theatre to their classroom for Program Orientation (students will find their room number for Program Orientation on the Orientation website).

Faculty tasks during College Orientation Day (Session C):

Program Orientation
• Faculty members will meet their students in their classroom (students will find their room number for Program Orientation on the Orientation website)
• After Program Orientation, Faculty will bring the students to the Marketplace Food Court for breakfast.

Student/Faculty Breakfast (Marketplace Food Court)
• Seating chart will show Faculty where to sit according to program.

• After eating breakfast, Faculty will bring their students to the Algonquin Commons Theatre.

Orientation Presentation
• Students and Faculty will sit together in the Theatre.

BOOKING ROOMS FOR PROGRAM ORIENTATION:
We ask that each Chair assign a rep from their department to book room(s) for Program Orientation. Each program will need to have a room for Program Orientation booked through Scheduling (schedule@algonquincollege.com). To know what time to schedule your Program Orientation, please see the College Orientation Day Schedule associated with your School and program.

Once a room has been booked through Scheduling, each program representative will need to submit their room via the College Orientation website (click here). This room must be booked and submitted to the Orientation website no later than Monday, December 21. If there are any room changes, this information must be updated, as it is displayed for the students on College Orientation Day. If you have any questions, please contact hubmail@algonquincollege.com.
