Your LMS Vendor Shortlist Has Been Determined!

The evaluators of the Learning Management System Steering Committee (LMSSC) have been working hard over the past few weeks to determine a shortlist of vendors based on your list of future Learning Management System (LMS) requirements. We can now announce that the two finalists are: Brightspace by Desire2Learn and Canvas by Instructure.

There is still important work to be done!

Over the next few weeks, we will need your final input and comprehensive feedback on the functionality of these two systems. Your hands-on experience will be the key to determining the best LMS for you. Details on how you can participate in sandbox demonstrations and usability tests will be available next week, so stay tuned and keep checking the LMS website for more details.

Business as usual!

Rest assured that this final vendor selection phase will have no impact on your use of the current LMS or the content you continue to upload to it. The implementation of a future system will not begin until Fall 2018, however we are committed to providing additional support, resources, and training to all users to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

The success of our Faculty and Students is the College's goal and choosing a future LMS with you, rather than for you is the key to that success. Don't let your opinion go unheard, and help shape the future of digital learning at Algonquin College.
