Come play in the LMS sandbox!

December 4, 2017

On behalf of the Learning Management System Steering Committee, we would like to officially welcome students and faculty back to campus.

Work towards the selection of a future Learning Management System (LMS) continues, with the launch of the sandboxes for our two vendor finalists: Brightspace by Desire2Learn and Canvas by Instructure.

We still need your final input and comprehensive feedback on the functionality of these final two systems.

Why play in the LMS Sandbox?

Playing in a LMS Sandbox is a means for you to access the systems of our two vendor finalists, to get hands-on experience with what they have to offer, and to have your say in the final selection process.

For students and faculty who participate, your names will be entered into a draw for a chance to win multiple prizes!

What do I need to know?

The sandbox demos will launch this Friday, December 8th and close on Monday, January 8th.

Throughout the month, you can choose a time to play at your convenience, and should allow yourself approximately 60 minutes.

Take the time to navigate your most commonly used functionalities, but also allow time to explore new features that you may not be used to but could help you with your efficiency and productivity while on the LMS.  It’s important that you take the time to play in the sandbox of both vendors to ensure a fair and unbiased evaluation of the systems.

You will be asked at the end of the demonstrations to complete a survey and to choose your preferred system, so your confidence in your answer is critical!

Next Steps

Log-in and registration details for the sandbox demonstrations will be available Friday, Dec. 8, so stay tuned!

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email LMSfeedback@algonquincollege.com.  Also please continue to visit www.algonquincollege.com/lms for all of these updates and more.

Have your say and help shape the future of digital learning at Algonquin College!
