Campus Accessibility Audit Activities

Please be advised that Algonquin College has engaged a consultant to undertake an accessibility audit of the campus grounds and buildings at all three campuses as part of a planned multi-year accessibility improvement program.
 
Starting Monday, Feb. 4 at the Ottawa Campus, a team from the Herrington Group will be inspecting the grounds and buildings during business hours.
 
The site assessment schedule is currently planned as follows:
 
Ottawa Campus: Feb. 4 to Mar. 1, 2019
 
Pembroke Campus: Mar. 3 to Mar. 8, 2019
 
Perth Campus: Mar. 11 to Mar. 15, 2019
 
A finalized schedule for the assessment at the Perth and Pembroke campuses will be created once the Ottawa Campus is nearing completion; an updated notice shall be issued by Physical Resources.
 
The consultants work will not impact operations or classes however they may briefly visit offices, classrooms and washrooms to carry out a quick visual inspection. The team will consist of only two to three members and they are experienced with this type of work and familiar with conducting assessment in an occupied campus environment. The work will consist of a visual inspection and in some cases a few digital photos and some measurements will be taken.
 
The team will be sensitive and careful not to disrupt occupants use of the space (e.g. they will look for opportunities when rooms are empty for brief periods) and no occupants will be photographed.
