LMS Weekly Update: Progress on course migration

Progress continues on migrating the last group of fewer than 100 courses from Blackboard and Canvas into Brightspace.

The dedicated migration team – eight individuals working full- and part-time – has successfully migrated approximately 35,000 courses into Brightspace in the last few months The migration process involved exporting and converting courses from several different Learning Management Systems and importing them into the Algonquin College Brightspace environment.

The difficulty in migrating the last few dozen courses has been traced to their large file sizes or the number of course pools involved. The team is currently reviewing the courses to work out solutions for bringing their content into Brightspace as quickly as possible.
